Königsbrunn signs US striker

EHC Königsbrunn announced on Friday that they had filled one of their three vacant import player positions. The club hopes to bolster their scoring threat with the signing of 26-year-old American Timmy Kent.

Timmy Kent was born in 1999 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 1.68-meter-tall forward played for three years at Curry College in the second-highest North American college league and was his team’s top scorer. He then moved to the EHCL, the third-highest league in the USA, and most recently played for the Birmingham Bulls in the SPHL. After contact with EHC Königsbrunn, Timmy Kent quickly reached an agreement with the club, as Königsbrunn’s chairman, Tim Bertele, reports:

“With Timmy, we’ve found exactly the type of player we were looking for. We’re getting a fast forward with high hockey IQ, excellent game sense, and outstanding stickhandling skills. He’s also very down-to-earth, hungry, and eager to prove himself in Europe for the first time. We gave him our word Monday evening, he was already on a plane on Tuesday, and was able to train with the team for the first time on Wednesday. We’re hoping for a quick resolution of the passport formalities so he can play against Kempten. He’ll certainly need some time to settle in, and the final preliminary round games in January will serve that purpose. I can’t say at this point whether we’ll sign a second import player. We’re definitely keeping our options open. A big thank you goes to the several sponsors who made this transfer possible on such short notice.”
